Reliability & Maintenance Strategy
IDCON can help your organization define a clear and simple Reliability and Maintenance Strategy for your plant, mine, mill, and/or corporation. The strategy usually include:
- Step 1: A clear vision of where you want to go
- Step 2: An understanding of how good you are
- Step 3: Develop a plan to close the gap between how good you are & how good you can become
Step 1: A clear vision of where you want to go
IDCON uses our Current Best Practices (CBP) as a starting point for discussion. IDCON facilitates the discussion (usually 2-5 days) where leadership from your company develops the reliability and maintenance strategy using CBP as a baseline. In most cases, the IDCON standard CBP is very close to what companies end up using as their own CBP after customization. At first glance, it may seem strange that a mine would have very similar work practices as a dairy factory, or a paper mill, but the work practices end up being similar since we maintain similar components (Motors, bearings, cylinders, etc). When the company leadership agrees to what best practices are, IDCON revises and documents the best practices for the Client. Clients has seen huge benefit in going through best practices in reliability and maintenance with their leadership. Alignment and understanding is often greatly improved.
Step 2: An understanding of how good you are
IDCON will use the customized CBP for your company to assess a plant or several plants in your organization to determine the status of current practices in each operation. IDCON's reliability and maintenance assessment methodology allows the assessment to be done by IDCON, or a combination of IDCON and the Client's team.
Step 3: Develop a plan to close the gap between how good you are & how good you can become
IDCON and the client jointly develop an implementation plan for the improvement opportunities we have identified. IDCON will contribute with experience in reliability and maintenance change management experience in many industries, in 51 countries since our start in 1972. The implementation plan will be built by your team using IDCON as a trainer, catalyst and coach.
