Key Challenges to Overcome for Success

Christer Idhammar, Founder and Executive Vice President, IDCON

Maintenance must be viewed as the provider of equipment reliability, not as a provider of service. Maintenance excellence is driven by skilled people working in a disciplined system, and how to make them do that is a challenge. It is important to understand and recognize the difference between system, processes, and tools and then stay on track for long term sustainable success.

Christer Idhammer, Idcon

Christer Idhammar is Founder and Vice President of IDCON, INC a reliability and maintenance management consulting firm that specializes in education, training, and implementation of improved operations, reliability, and maintenance management practices. Christer is a world-renowned expert within reliability and maintenance. He started his career in the Swedish merchant marines where he developed the fundamentals of his results-oriented reliability and maintenance management concept. During the last 30 years, Christer has evolved this concept during his time as a mechanic crafts person, engineer, manager, consultant, educator and philosopher, reliability guru, and company leader. He received the EuroMaintenance Incentive Award in 2002 for outstanding achievement and worldwide accomplishments in the field of reliability and maintenance.
