Preventive Maintenance, Starting Out
We educate our clients in current best PM / ECCM practices by first identifying the gap between best practices and the actual performance of the plant. The purpose of the exercise is to convey to the plant what a good condition monitoring and preventive maintenance program looks like.

Implementation Plan
The gap of “what could be” and “what is” will provide the foundation for making an implementation plan and identify measurable success indicators for the condition monitoring and preventive maintenance program.

Implementation
Implementation may start with initial reliability training for the plant in PM and condition monitoring. After the initial training, we work with your people on-the-job to implement and institute the PM / ECCM processes. The goal is to achieve a condition monitoring and preventive maintenance program that is

  • Documented
  • Executed
  • Tracked

In our opinion, it is critical to do work with the frontline on-the-for implementing better practices. The key is for personnel to build the process themselves, using IDCON only as catalyst and trainer. By having personnel build or revamp a preventive maintenance program and use IDCON as guide, we will get people to take OWNERSHIP in the new process and therefore make it sustainable.

Scope
IDCON identifies the scope of PM / ECCM as described in the chart above. However, we will focus on improving the processes that applies to your plant (identified in the gap analysis).

Maintenance Seminars and Training
Our PM / ECCM training seminars are most effective when customized for our clients. We visit your plant to learn your systems, collect pictures, documentation, and other examples we can use in the training. In the training, we cover the process of setting up, executing and measuring an effective program. The customized PM / ECCM training is usually one of the first steps in an improvement process for the plant.

Open Seminars
IDCON also do open PM / ECCM seminars and training several times a year. Click here for more information about our open preventive maintenance seminars.

After initial training, we help our clients implement PM/ECCM with on-the-job training. The implementation quality and speed is supported by our tools, such as condition monitoring standards, several documentation systems ranging from paper to hand help computer. Lubrication, alignment and balancing standard examples. Detailed cleaning exercises and more.
